Today, I was poking around on IMDB and I read this. It said that the Smurfs live-action flick would be similar to Alvin and the Chipmunks!

Really, Hollywood?

I can’t help but feel like studio execs are just trying to capitalize on the pocketbook of us 30 something year old’s with the grand promise of “flashy new technology!”

What’s the problem?

Well, all of these live-action movies with 3D generated characters are sterile. They are too perfect because of the computers. It’s technology for technology’s sake – just because they can.

Can’t we leave well enough alone?

I miss the days of people in costumes. Such as, TMNT, Labyrinth and The the Muppets. We love these movies because they were tangible. They weren’t trying to be perfect. Less is more.

I love of technology – but please, no more live-action cartoon 3D flicks… pretty please!!!?

The Compromise

At least, let Dreamworks do it all in 3D (ex: Shrek) or let Tim Burton take the reigns – please don’t squash the mushroom hut. I beg you, Hollywood!

BTW – I used to collect Smurfs figurines… anyone else?

Funny how me met – thanks to our TV backgrounds and the internet. I’ll have to tell that whole story one day.

Let’s just say that since we’ve been dating, I’ve learned way more about MMA than I ever thought I would — especially considering I’m not a sports person. I don’t watch football, baseball or basketball but I have been watching MMA events since gaining an appreciation for the strategy and athleticism.

Yes… I know how to do a rear naked choke which is actually a pretty safe way to disable an attacker, if you can manage to get behind them.

Oh, and now you know why I’ve been tweeting about MMA events.
