Flora Stew

Version 1

Version 2

Version 3

A little PhotoShop play time. I was inspired by Florida Flowers and Fauna. Which of the three is your favorite?
I think I prefer number two.

  • Tracy

I like three the best. Did you draw a sketch first or was this all freehand…. ? Wish I had some photoshop time myself!

  • larissa

Just experimenting. I didn’t know where the final result would lead me but when I started seeing some textures and colors I liked, I tried to stick to that to keep some kind of focus.

  • D.C.

Number two is least busy, it grows on you:)

  • Terra

I like 3 the best. But love the colors in all of them

    I like #1

How do I get my gravatar to show up?

Ooo, it worked :) Thanks. Sorry for using your blog as a test bed!

  • GlenB

I prefer #1, however, they are all beautiful.

All of these rock! I think number two works best for me. Great movement and eye flow.

  • Ron

Number 3 catches my attenton more then the others.

Version 1 I think could be your best work yet. To take it a little further I’d play with the color intensity, which could open the space, lead us through, to areas of interest, etc.

I take three. How much? :)
Seriously, I’m in love with these three artwork.
    Maybe a special mention for #2, maybe…
    Great experimentation !!

Forced to re-write my comment again. That and i still feel absolutely terrible.

I think it’s great that your getting out of the norm ! I love them all.
So in regards to picking ‘one’ I couldn’t for I could pick any of them for different reasons.

I love the symmetrical approach and non symmetrical additions to #1.

as that ‘bryant’ fellow stated the movement ad flow of #2 is great.

I love the interlocking nature of the green ‘vines’ (?) in #3.

I think most of all due to your artistic background and painterly nature, seen per your gallery – it could have been safe to assume that these were crafted by your own hand ;)

    I applaud thee.

I like the third but I go for number 3 if you need to pick one of them

  • manicscitzo

ohh at first i though three, but then two kinda got me…., three’s too busy for me and one’s too ordered. Two just looks natural like there’s a breeze ^^ i’m reading too much into this!! (back to dA idiot!!)

I love the second one – it’s gorgeous. just found your blog through a link from a link from a link somewhere!

  • larissa

  • MetalDog

Hi Larissa, No. 3 is the best!

Wow! Your graphics and your use of colors are superb! Hopefully one day we’ll get to be able to do a small fraction of what you are able to achieve. BTW- we like #3. Keep up the great work.

  • Elissa

Version 1 as a desktop wallpaper please! haha I love the designs… The colors pull you in at first glance and as your designs progress, it’s hard to look away. Nicely done!

    number two is hot shit.
i love some of the lighter, almost negative space, and the washier tones that are at play here – creates a nice, layered hierarchy for the foreground stuff to pop off….really nice – sorry to be so commerce minded about it, but it’s just beggin for an HP spot….

a nice combination of hand done and technical graphics.

  • Rob

I like #2 best. It has the same colors and some of the same shapes etc as the other two but its not quite as busy. You can focus a bit more on the actual art/image instead of trying to see everything.
