The Boleyn Inheritance.

I just finished this book in record time; 528 pages in 5 days. The book is The Boleyn Inheritance by Philippa Gregory just released December 5th. I personally love fiction based on history.

Maybe the free time of the holidays helped but it’s been quite some time since I have read a book which truly captivated me and made me feel like I was stepping into another place.

The Boleyn Inheritance is a great read taking you back to the time of Tyrant King Henry VIII, famous for murdering his wives. In this book you get to live the lives of Jane Boleyn, Anne of Cleves and Katherine Howard as seen through the imagination of author Phillippa Gregory.

I won’t spoil the ending but I constantly found myself wondering what would happen next. And after you finish the book it will leave you hungry for more or at least a fascination with Henry VIII’s wives. I just spent an hour (at least) on Wikipedia.

I agree, there is nothing like a good book to devour over the holidays.
What ever genre you like, it is a time of year when a person gets a nice amount of time to just read a good book.

You seemed to find this book very enjoyable. I will go check it out.

P.S. Merry Christmas and Happy New year!!!

Thanks Joefish! I’ll have to take a look at your recommendation. And the VIII is now changed. :)

I’m currently reading something in a similar genre: alternate history. The Years of Rice and Salt asks (and of course answers) the question “What if the Black Plague had wiped out Europe?” The book uses a series of shorts to illustrate a world dominated by Islam and Buddhism.

(Psst! Do you mean Henry VIII?)
