Little Lucy, your’e the one who makes life so much fun!

I never though I could love a dog so much. We’ve had Lucy for a little over a year now and I like her so much better than when she was a puppy. She was such a little chewer with sharp puppy teeth and my hands were always a target. Today she likes to hang on to my pant leg or skirt hem with her teeth and try to keep me from walking around the house. She hogs my chair when I work and sits behind me while I tap away at my keyboard.

Beagles are funny dogs. They have amazing temperaments and a little kid can come up and yank their floppy ears and they just smother the kid with kisses. Beagles are quite stubborn too. I was never a believer in all that different breed different personality stuff but from what I’ve read, at least I know that my beagle isn’t alone in her weird habits.

Here’s a list of beagle traits

1. They like to drag their butt’s sometimes. (Has to do with their glands
3. Their barks are nice, but sometimes so drawn out you think they are in pain.
4. Sometimes they eat their poop… umm…not Lucy…eww…
5. They are hard to train because they are stubborn and their sense of smell gets the better of them.
6. Their nose can get them into trouble or make the constantly distracted.
7. They shed a lot of hair (especially in Florida).
8. They can have this backward sneezing thing that sounds like they are hyperventilating.

Some Lucy traits

1. She thinks she’s a mountain goat and climbs the furniture like Evil Knievel.
2. She has the backward sneezing thing.
3. She loves to snuggle and will sit on you anytime she gets a chance.
4. She can run sideways on the couch and defy gravity when she’s excited.
5. She likes to sleep under the covers with her head on a pillow.
6. She tries to eat her ears on occasion.
7. She likes to eat things like dryer sheets, cotton balls and toilet paper. (Gotta keep the floors clean and a lid on the trash).
8. She runs around the house with a dirty sock like she just won the lottery.

Anyway, we love her and all her silly ways. I think we are way to attached to our dog but I guess that’s what happens when you don’t have kids.
